1. Define the project

  1. Access project scope and other relevant documentation
  2. Define project stakeholders
  3. Ask your delegating authority to clarify issues related to project and project parameters
  4. Identify limits of your responsibility
  5. Identify your reporting requirements
  6. Clarify the relationship of project to other projects and to your organisation's objectives
  7. Determine and access available resources to do the project

 

2. Develop project plan

  1. Develop a project plan in line with the project parameters
  2. Identify appropriate project management tools and access them
  3. Develop a risk management plan for the project. It needs to include Work Health and Safety risks.
  4. Develop a budget for the project and get it approved
  5. Consult your team members and consider their views in planning the project
  6. Finalise the project plan and get any necessary approvals so that you can start the project according to the written plan
