HCR Job Description: Media partnership facilitator
- Mission
- Manage a holistic approach to the media partnership that meets the needs of communities and meets the expectations of church and non-church partners
- Strategic communication
- Create content that meets health promotion and community development needs of the audience
- Apply health promotion and community development processes into the media partnership activities and media content.
- Develop strategies that achieve the media partnerships ‘theory of change’: capacity building leads to empowerment, which leads to behaviour change, which leads to social capital.
- Research cultural communication patterns and implement findings into media content such as the design and formulation of key messages.
- Deploy radio programming, web and social media that is relevant to the audience and purposes of the media, giving particular attention to media integration.
- Participation
- Ensure that communities participate in the design, planning and implementation of community-centred media partnerships with such methods as community mapping.
- Ensure that media partnerships include people of different faiths, gender, and disability.
- Project and Media Partnerships
- Develop and facilitate local media partnerships.
- Manage the expansion project that leads to local media partnerships being established.
- Evaluate project expansion and local media partnership outcomes.
- Sustainable Funding
- Facilitate funding from international donors (for the expansion project) and local sources (for local partnerships).
- Maintain financial and promotional materials that meet the requirements of donors and partners.
- Write Community Service Announcements
- Competently write Community Service Announcements that meet health communication requirements.
- Training
- Organize and deliver training in media skills to project staff, volunteers and partners.
- Train others to write Community Service Announcements that meet health communication requirements.
