HCR Job Description: Media partnership facilitator

 

  1. Mission
    1. Manage a holistic approach to the media partnership that meets the needs of communities and meets the expectations of church and non-church partners
  2. Strategic communication
    1. Create content that meets health promotion and community development needs of the audience
    2. Apply health promotion and community development processes into the media partnership activities and media content.
    3. Develop strategies that achieve the media partnerships ‘theory of change’: capacity building leads to empowerment, which leads to behaviour change, which leads to social capital.
    4. Research cultural communication patterns and implement findings into media content such as the design and formulation of key messages.
    5. Deploy radio programming, web and social media that is relevant to the audience and purposes of the media, giving particular attention to media integration.
  3. Participation
    1. Ensure that communities participate in the design, planning and implementation of community-centred media partnerships with such methods as community mapping.
    2. Ensure that media partnerships include people of different faiths, gender, and disability.
  4. Project and Media Partnerships
    1. Develop and facilitate local media partnerships.
    2. Manage the expansion project that leads to local media partnerships being established.
    3. Evaluate project expansion and local media partnership outcomes.
  5. Sustainable Funding
    1. Facilitate funding from international donors (for the expansion project) and local sources (for local partnerships).
    2. Maintain financial and promotional materials that meet the requirements of donors and partners.
  6. Write Community Service Announcements
    1. Competently write Community Service Announcements that meet health communication requirements.
  7. Training
    1. Organize and deliver training in media skills to project staff, volunteers and partners.
    2. Train others to write Community Service Announcements that meet health communication requirements.
