Certificate I

Entry level employment; basic routine jobs under supervision

Certificate I qualifications are often used for various entry-level skills for a job, such as broad-based induction skills and/or specific workplace skills. They often include teamwork skills and general "how to be an employee" units.

Somebody with a qualification at this level has enough knowledge and skills to do a defined range of activities, most of which may be routine and predictable:

  • Remember knowledge in a narrow range of areas;
  • Show basic practical skills, (e.g. use of relevant tools)
  • Do a sequence of routine tasks given clear direction; and
  • Receive and pass on messages or information.
