Higher Education Act 2004 (WA)

• Accreditation of higher education programs is available through the Office of Higher Education, Department of Education Services of the WA government.
• All non self-accrediting higher education institutions (e.g. from interstate) must be approved to operate in Western Australia.
• All foreign higher education institutions must be approved to operate in Western Australia
• It is illegal for any private provider to offer, or purport to offer, higher education award courses without being accredited and registered in Western Australia.

The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cwlth) and Freedom of Information Act 1992 (WA) provide a general right of access to documents held by government agencies that relate to a person or entity. Its value and relevance to ACAS is that it gives an avenue of investigation if a formal complaint appears to be  necessary.

The service is independent and impartial, and its value and relevance to ACAS is that it gives an avenue of complaint if necessary.
