Frontline management
If offering the Frontline Management units on OHS, you may need to relate to the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.
The Occupational Safety and Health Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2007 commence on 1 October 2007
From this date, licenses will be issued to all new applicants seeking approval to perform the high risk work identified in the licensing standard (dogging, rigging and scaffolding work and operating forklifts, cranes, hoists and pressure equipment such as boilers and turbines).
The amendment regulations also require holders of existing national certificates of competency and approved forklift documentary evidence to convert to a license within five years. These conversions are not required on 1 October 2007.
Instead, the date by which the conversion is required for a license depends upon the issue date which appears on an O.H.S. Certification Australia card, Western Australian 'State' Certificate of Competency (issued prior to 1 July 1994) or NOHSC:7019 documentary evidence in the case of forklift operators. The attached image file provides a summary of the conversion dates.
The application forms for new licenses and conversions will be available from WorkSafe.
