This unit is about generating, leading and sustaining innovative organizational thinking and practice. Each organization’s thinking and practice will be different depending on its core business, purpose, size, complexity and broader operating context.

You will be assessed through:


 

Practical

You will be assessed in the workplace as a safe environment, and you will need to show consistent performance as a manager and leader. You will need access to:

  1. workplace documentation and resources.
  2. office equipment and materials.
  3. case studies or, where available, real situations.
  4. interaction with others.

Complete a workplace project or case study demonstrating:

  1. A comprehensive understanding and application of key concepts, current theories and processes for introducing, communicating, promoting, supporting and sustaining innovative thinking and practices in an organizational context.
  2. Use of various techniques and tools to stimulate creative or innovative thinking.
  3. Research, review and critical analysis of trends in thinking and emerging practices as they relate to an organization’s current thinking and practices.
  4. Developed capacity to lead innovative thinking and practice in an organizational context.

2. Lead innovative practices

  1. Develop personal leadership style to model positive innovative thinking and practice.
  2. Review, challenge and refine own style and practice in relation to modelling and supporting innovation.
