BSBLDR402 Lead effective workplace relationships.

This unit is about promoting team cohesion. It includes motivating, mentoring, coaching and developing the team and forming the bridge between the management of the organization and team members. This unit applies to team leaders, supervisors and new or emerging managers where leadership plays a role in developing and maintaining effective workplace relationships. It applies in any industry or community context.

Practical

You will be assessed in the workplace as a safe environment. You will need to demonstrate consistent performance of typical activities as manager and will need access to:

  1. interaction with others.
  2. relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes.
  3. relevant workplace documentation and resources.
  4. case studies and, where possible, real situations.

You will need to show that you can:

  1. Access and analyze information to achieve planned outcomes.
  2. Apply techniques for resolving problems and conflicts and dealing with poor performance within your organization’s and legislative requirements.
  3. Review and improve workplace outcomes in consultation with relevant personnel.
  4. Adjust your interpersonal style and communications to respond to cultural and social diversity.
  5. Apply relationship management and communication skills with a range of people that:
    1. Demonstrate integrity, respect, empathy and cultural sensitivity and promote trust.

1. Collect, analyze and communicate information and ideas.

  1. Collect relevant information from appropriate sources and analyze and share with the team to improve work performance.
  2. Communicate ideas and information in a manner that is appropriate and sensitive to the cultural and social diversity of the audience and any specific needs.

  5. Promptly relay feedback about outcomes to the team.
