This unit is about initiating and implementing advanced learning practice to improve learning strategies in an organization.
The unit also covers the evaluation of ways to improve learning practice, how to manage and monitor the means to improve learning, and how to analyze and advance the adoption of improved learning practice.
How you will be assessed
You will be assessed through:
- Assessor observation on the job
- Supervisor reference (if the assessor is not the supervisor)
- Review of your workplace documents (e.g. procedures, evaluations, reports, materials)
- Interview/assignment based on the requirements below.
Practical
You will be assessed in the workplace with suitable facilities and resources. You will need to show that you have:
- created an improved learning strategy that is pedagogically sound and contextually relevant
- implemented improved learning practice.
As this is normally a major project, it will take place over an extended time, and cover a range and variety of complex situations.

Assignment 1
Write a 1000 word description of learning principles, for example connections of learning and experience, and adult learning principles. (These may be specific to the area of instruction.) As relevent, describe the affects of theory of learning (cognitivism, social constructivism, and behaviorism) on your learning principles.

Write a 2000 word review of current literature on research on theory and practice in relation to advanced learning practice, especially where these are enabled by new content solutions, vocational, training and educational approaches, or technologies. About literature reviews

Write a 2000 word review of current literature on research on theory and practice in relation to advanced learning practice, especially where these are enabled by new content solutions, vocational, training and educational approaches, or technologies. About literature reviews

Write a 1000 word review of current literature on contemporary policy and approaches to vocational learning and assessment. About literature reviews
Assignment 5
Write a 2000 word research paper on one of the following:
- pedagogical theory and practice,
- learner interests and changing learning styles,
- application of information and communication technology to learning and teaching
Follow the guidelines in the following textbooks: Overall method, and Written guidelines, except where already covered by your organization's guidelines.
Detailed requirements
1. Evaluate ways to improve learning practice.
- Review advances in learning practice within a given vocational, training, educational or content area
- Review and challenge existing learning practice to develop and test improved approaches
- Analyze interests, abilities, relationships and contextual needs of relevant individuals when promoting improved learning practice
- Research how a range of appropriate learning theories and instructional design principles can improve learning practice
- Ensure learning practice reflects qualification requirements for nominated qualification/s
2. Manage and monitor means to improve learning.
- Observe and assess learner styles with respect to appropriateness of current vocational, training and educational learning strategies
- Evaluate the role and impact of new technologies on learners and training techniques
- Plan improved learning practice based on how learners currently learn
- Plan improved learning practice based on experience and personal interests of the learner
3. Analyze and advance adoption of improved learning practices.
