Alison: Nicole, please tell me about it. I'd like to help if I can.

Nicole: Oh... I don't know where to start. It seems like everything's going wrong right now. You know my Mum is still really sick?

Alison: Yes, I did know. How are you handling that?

Nicole: Well, it never ends. I get home from work and I have to help her, sort out the bills, cook dinner, get the house tidied – the list just goes on! And then she keeps me up half the night, getting her a drink or just staying with her. Some mornings I can hardly keep my eyes open!

Alison: Nicole, no wonder you're finding it hard to concentrate. Is there anything bothering you about work?

Nicole: Oh, not really. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who does a lot of stuff, like cleaning the kitchens and washing or tidying up. The others sometimes leave me with too many children to look after while they're off doing something – those little ones are a real handful you know. All this, and I'm still only just earning enough to pay the bills.

Alison: Nicole, it seems that you and I need to have a good talk about these things. I think that I will be able to help you, but you're also going to have to sort a few things out in your own life. Are you willing to give it a go?

Nicole: Yes Alison, I will. I just can't go on feeling this way all the time.
