Alison: Thanks Mrs Forbes, I would like to talk to you about the parenting order that has been issued for Owen's care. Are you aware of this document?

Mrs Forbes: Oh, John said he had something from the courts. Does that say I can't see Owen? I'm not having that!

Alison: They don't say that you can't see Owen, they just stipulate that only Owen's father can collect him from Cybertots. That means that I can't allow Owen to go home with you today.

Mrs Forbes: That'd be right. His dad has banned me from seeing my own son. I'm not happy with this arrangement – I want to see my boy. I bet his dad's been here plenty of times.

Alison: I'm sorry Mrs Forbes, but I have to comply with these orders. That means I can't let you take Owen home today. If you're not happy with the parenting order, you can go back to the courts and try to get it changed.

Mrs Forbes: I just don't know where to start. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause a fuss.

Alison: I know, these situations are very difficult. I'm sure Owen was happy to see you today. Hopefully you'll be able to renegotiate this parenting order to see him more often.

Mrs Forbes: Oh, I don't know. It's all very difficult.

Alison: Let's go and get you a couple of brochures that might be helpful, then you can say goodbye to Owen.

Alison: This brochure explains how parenting orders work, and the other one has information about how to arrange legal assistance and other matters. I hope you manage to find a way to improve the situation.

Mrs Forbes: Oh, I will. Thanks Alison – sorry again about the fuss. Hopefully I'll see you soon. Can I just say goodbye to Owen?

Alison: Of course Mrs Forbes. Owen's playing just outside with Salwa. Good luck with everything.

Mrs Forbes: Thanks Alison. Bye.
