Shift leader's assistant

This is a job description for a shift leader's assistant in a residential drug and alcohol recovery centre.

  1. Help the shift leader with the practical matters of running the shift. These require a low level of responsibility (e.g. helping residents with chores, maintaining general cleanliness, taking residents to a shop etc.)
  2. Adjust to the environment
  3. Develop an attitude of observation to recognize potential danger situations and for self-development
  4. Develop (or maintain) emotional stability
  5. Develop rapport with residents
  6. Mentor residents
  7. Maintain a safe environment for staff and residents.
