Safety in outdoor areas

Did you know?

Babies who are not yet walking should be closely supervised around sandpits to prevent them from falling forward into the sand and suffocating.

The same considerations apply to the outdoor area as to inside. When you're designing outdoor areas, think about how you can create spaces that give lots of room for moving around, as well as spaces for quiet play and for creative play.

Safety is a big consideration with young children, both indoors and outdoors. The sun is one thing to be especially careful about when outdoors. Babies' skin is very fragile. It is not used to the sun and needs to be protected.
