A sensitive situation
How can you manage sensitive situations at work within legislative and ethical requirements?
Owen is four years old. Earlier this year his mum and dad split up, and his mum moved out of the family home. Owen's dad has been doing a good job of looking after Owen by himself. Cybertots staff are working with Owen to positively guide his behaviour as he tries to deal with the changes in his life.
Owen is collected every day by his father, John, and only sees his mum when she comes to visit. There is currently a court case going on to decide parenting arrangements for Owen. A parenting order has been issued, so it is a very sensitive situation for everyone involved.
There is a lot of noise coming from the 3 – 5's Room. Owen's mother has arrived to collect him, and it seems that she's not happy with Nicole's assistant, Salwa. Have a listen to what's happening.
